Request[edit | edit source]

Gulliver will ask the player to give him 10 pieces of furniture or clothing. Each item has an internal rank that determines how many points it is worth to Gulliver, and furniture provides more points than clothing in general. While trading with Gulliver, an item's Trade-Point value is hinted at by the text below each item (blank, Good, or Great).

Not every piece of furniture or clothing may be traded to Gulliver.

Furniture and clothing given to Gulliver will disappear from the inventory.

Once the player fulfills the 10 requests, Gulliver will give the player two directions to pick from. Which directions appear as options will depend on the theme of the furniture/clothes given to Gulliver. For example, if the player gives Gulliver 10 Hip-themed furniture pieces then Gulliver will have a top option of going North and a bottom option of a random direction. If the player gives Gulliver 5 Hip-themed furniture pieces and 5 Cool-themed pieces, then Gulliver will always have a North option and a South option.

Different themes will not be grouped together when determining direction options. For example, giving Gulliver 3 Sporty-themed pieces, 5 Civic-themed pieces, , and 2 Harmonious-themed pieces will result in Gulliver giving a top option of West and a random bottom direction. This is due to the two highest number of pieces both having West (5 Civic and 3 Sporty).

The direction picked for Gulliver will determine what themed snack is possible for him to bring the player.

When Gulliver departs, it takes 6 hours for him to return.

Item Trade-Points[edit | edit source]

To help determine how many Trade-Points an item is worth to Gulliver, please refer to the following table:

Rarity Text Hint Gulliver's Reaction Trade-Points
Clothing Furniture
★★★★★ Great "It's so... superlative!" 40 40
★★★★ Great "It's so... superlative!" 30 30
★★★ Great "It's so... superlative!" 20 20
★★★ Great "It's so... superlative!" 10 10
★★ Good "It's so... superlative!" 3 5
★★ Good "That's a fine item..." 2 3
Good "That's a fine item..." 1 2
blank No reaction 0 0
  • Many Fortune Cookie items with ★★★ are worth 20 Trade Points, however a few are only worth 10.
  • Non-Fortune Cookie items with ★★★ are worth 10 Trade Points.

Rewards[edit | edit source]

Once Gulliver returns, he rewards the player with some snacks and sometimes a new villager.

If the player gave Gulliver items that totaled less than 15 Trade-Points, they will receive a generic snack. Over 15 Trade-Points will result in the player receiving themed-snacks. The type of themed-snacks depend on the direction the player chose to send Gulliver.

There is also a chance that the player will receive a bonus reward, which could be a generic snack or a villager.

When Gulliver has an hour or less time remaining, the player may be able to see Gulliver from Sunburst Island. If Gulliver is bringing a villager with him, the player will see the villager icon above the ship.

Snacks[edit | edit source]

The snacks Gulliver brings can be used to increase villagers' friendship with the player. There are 7 types of snacks: generic and one type for each theme. Each themed snack comes in one of three tiers:

  • Plain (gives +1 Friendship points, or +2 Friendship points if given to the villager whose theme matches the snack's theme)
  • Tasty (gives +4 Friendship points, or +8 Friendship points if given to the villager whose theme matches the snack's theme)
  • Gourmet (gives +10 Friendship points, or +15 Friendship points if given to the villager whose theme matches the snack's theme)

Generic snack gives +2, +10, or +15 Friendship points depending on its rarity (Bronze, Silver, or Gold).

Themed rewards for each directions are as follows:

Gulliver's Travelers (New Villagers)[edit | edit source]

When a villager is introduced to the player through Gulliver, they will not require any furniture crafted or Friendship Level reached in order to be invited to the Campsite.

There is 30% chance of one of the following villagers coming back with Gulliver:
